Solid advice for men of all ages!
It’s not often that an author mixes Augustine, Aquinas, Chesterton, St. Francis, and tons of Scripture with Louis L’Amour, but Bear Woznick does so, and he does it well. The result–“12 Rules for Manliness: Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?”–is a beefy stew of ideas that will edify and fortify the reader. From the book’s foreword by Bishop Larry Silva to its concluding thoughts on fulfilling one’s telos, the author frequently raises the reader’s mind to God and the end for which we were made. But the book is also very earthy and practical, for we are not in Heaven yet. The world is sorely in need of authentically masculine men of virtue, and Woznick presents numerous concrete ideas to develop men of strength who live by a code, ride for their brand, treat women well, and accomplish important work. One wishes the book included an index, as the reader will often want to return to the book to find a specific quotation or topic. On the other hand, it also seems likely that readers will read and re-read the book enough that they become intimately familiar with its contents.Men who develop authentically masculine virtue will change their lives and change the world. Woznick’s book makes a strong contribution toward that end.

Nice
I bought this as a gift for someone they have told me they enjoyed it and frankly that’s really all I can say since I have not read it myself

Strong Words Men Need to Hear
Bear’s new book is filled with stories and sound advice, which every man needs who wishes to pursue a path of virtue and honor in this ‘anything goes’ culture of ours. Bear shares from his heart, combining his own vast experiences with the rich wisdom of those who came before us, including Louis L’Amour, the prolific author of many Westerns that featured true men fighting for what’s right in the Wild West. Bear Woznick is kind of a G.K. Chesterton of our day, not afraid to speak the truth even if it might knock us off our high horse, only to put us back in the saddle on a truer, more virtuous path.

An excellent read for men
Bear did a masterful job of tying together the cowboy and faith based lifestyle that can be followed by any man who is willing to work for the betterment of himself and those that he loves

First time in my life I’ve finished reading a book and turned back to the first page and started again. Bear Woznick touched my heart with this deeply honest discussion on manliness and virtue. He metaphorically looked me right in the eye and called me out on my B.S.. I will read it again and then give it to my son. The book has also encouraged me to start a men’s group in my church … this is the perfect short chapter book that I can lead the men through … perhaps with a cigar and a manly beverage. Strongly recommend this book to all men and their sons.
