   Nice books but difficulty open pen
   Pros:I really enjoyed using this set! It was relaxing and fun! I would purchase this set again as a gift for anyone who enjoys painting or coloring. I loved the fact that everything is self-contained, and this would be a great set for entertainment while traveling. The brush is fun to use with a fine tip for small areas. It is not necessary to apply pressure to the handle of the brush, somehow the correct amount of water seems to flow for the painting process.Cons: At first, I had difficulty opening the plastic brush to add water but figured it out. I also had trouble removing the page I wanted to paint from the book. I thought it would be necessary to prevent bleeding to the next page, but the cardstock is thick enough that I do not think that will be a problem. I do wish the color palate was chosen with the picture in mind for each painting. For example, I painted a page with flamingos and wanted to paint the water blue. However, no blue is provided so I had to improvise and paint the water purple. It is possible to mix colors somewhat, but I had already used all of the green, some of the yellow, and could therefore not mix the green and yellow to make blue.

   Perfect waiting/travel activity!
   This is the perfect waiting/travel activity for kids (or adults)! No water cup is required as the paint brush has a water reservoir, and since there’s a built-in paint palette on each page, we don’t have to bring along any normal liquid paint- which we’d then worry about it leaking in our bags. Just use the paint brush to wet the paints at the bottom of the page, and voilà: paint away! Perfect for traveling, when we’re stuck waiting somewhere, or any other time we need to distract the kiddos!Love, love, love this!

   Interesting and well drawn designs
   I got this painting kit for kids in a range of ages, so I really appreciate that the pictures are interesting to the older kids as well as the youngest. The beauty of watercolor is that the older kids, and also teens and adults, can create something spectacular with shades and blending. I prefer 1/4″ flat end brushes over the water pen because I have several kids painting at once – we have a supply of these brushes. I give the kids a tablespoon of water in a small heavy bowl and a paper towel for wiping the brush. We have zero mess and no paint on clothes – I love it! I remove the pages with a box cutting knife and separate the paint strip so that the finished products can be set aside and another page painted. The color palette is limited, as is always the case with watercolor painting books, but the color choices are pretty and compliment one another well. These books are great value for the money.

   Cute activity
   This is a great idea for toddlers and preschoolers. These watercolor books are a fun way to let the kids be creative. Reasonably priced and nice quality. Great to have on hand. I do like the paint pen, but I’m sure the cap is soon to disappear.
