Absolutely delightful
Strong FMC not made completely bulletproof so the stakes are real. Engaging quest plot line. Delightful cast of characters and found family picked up alone the way

*****Spoilers*****Einar is a dragon, the last in the realm because he sacrifices his blood to seal the rest of other dragons away from this world whole he remains in what he expects to be eternal slumber. He hates the fae because of the long war they’ve been engaged in and because they’ve killed people dear to him, most recently his good friend who was more like a brother who had mated with a fae princess. Adara is the lost fae-dragon princess hybrid who is unaware of her heritage. She thinks she’s a magical dud with little water magic but the amulet she’s worn her whole life is really what’s kept her from using her water magic but also her fire magic. Adara is planning to join the military instead of taking after her earth fae mother as an herbalist. However, Adara discovers that she has fire magic in an explosive and public way during the trials and her mother uses her earth magic to send Adara many miles away so that Adara escapes the king’s general who has been looking for Adara. Adara is the water fire wielding child who can eradicate the shadow magic from the world. Adara and Einar meet because she’s led to his place of slumber and awakens him from it with her touch. Einar wakes and recognizes Adara as his mate but is appalled to know his mate is a fae because he has so much animosity toward the fae. The rest of the book is revelations and Adara and Einar teaming together on a quest to find and rescue her mother in exchange for a draught that will put Einar back to sleep. The characters in the book are varied and well developed. The fae and dragon animosity crops up regularly which I think is realistic given that Einar fought the fae and has just awakened from a 20 year rest. Try as Einar does, he can’t maintain his emotional distance from Adara and gradually he’s coming around by book’s end though his body made choices for him a few times where his mind has rebelled but no more than a couple of kisses in this one. There are a lot of twists and turns and unexpected events that occur so the rescue isn’t a plan and execute at much it is an idea of the end goal which is interpreted for different reasons. It’s a good thing in that the book is unpredictable and not boring but also doing too much too fast. I loved where and how the author took the story, it just felt like drinking from a water hose at times. Too much too fast and not much time spent with Adara and Einar examining whatever they have simmering.Overall, it’s a good read.

Good Read
Good story building, enemies to lovers, slow burn. I liked the pacing and the characters are very likable. Just what a good fantasy romance should be!

Awesome book! Love Jasmine Walt!
This book was so good! It had me excited to read more. I love the strong main character and the love story is cute but also spicy in a very intriguing way. The story had mystery that held your attention and also really cool fight scenes. There were some minor typos/editing issues that I wish someone had fixed, but many other beloved books have that too.

A fun Story but missing depths and faulty at times.I picked this book up because of the various Instagram ads around it and the introduction sounded quite promising. Sadly the story lacked in real conversations, character building and any sort of consequences to the actions of the characters. Everything is laid into the protagonists lap, without her having to try. This hinders any sort of character development or growing sympathy by the reader for the characters. In addition, there are mistakes with the timings, first talking of days and days to weeks to suddenly three days. How big is this world? Shouldnt everything take a bit longer and then the characters would have proper time to show their personal traits and how they interact with each other? A great example is Adarna and Leap. Why should Leap trust them? There is absolutely no reason given. The book needs a good read through to remove these little faults. The world building is also kept to a minimum, which is a shame, because the ideas of the author are great, but barely touched upon. From time to time it brakes with the world as modern terms are used and along all the magical creatures we suddenly have rats in a sewage system. In addition descriptions are often exaggerated, so that they feel fake and not relatable upon. So yeah … this story still needs a lot of work and a good editor should support the author.
