    ++++++ BETTER THAN EXPECTED+++++
    After reading some of the reviews, I was not sure I was going to like the 2nd book in Guardians of Justice series. I had enjoyed book 1 and wanted to read the entire series. I was appalled at the reviews which included what happened to Allison’s dog. Being a major dog lover, I made sure I did not become attached to Bert. There was also a romance between the two main characters from almost from the beginning of book – too fast for me. I enjoy romance and suspense but lean more to the suspense end.That said—Deadly Pursuit is an excellent book. Yes, there were the parts I went in knowing about and was not sure how I would react to them, but…. to my delight the suspense was spell-binding! Even though the stalker was made known very quickly as well as his reasons behind what he was doing, there were enough super plot twists and turns that I was hooked! Many people in the story had bits of knowledge about the stalker/kidnapper but for a variety of reasons did not/could not connect with the police at first. But when they did……watch out!The main characters were interesting and likeable. Looking forward to book 3 – Cole’s story. It will be disappointing when the series ends with his book. When I finish it, I will be looking at other series Irene Hannon has written.

    Another Great Read by Hannon
    Social worker Alison Taylor is dedicated to her job of protecting kids, but when her own life is in danger, who will protect her? When her brother sets her up on a blind date, Alison finds her answer in ex-Navy Seal Mitch Morgan, who is determined to protect Alison and to steal her heart.Irene Hannon fans will devour this latest book by one of my favorite Christian suspense authors. The characters aren’t as developed as in other books, but I enjoyed their story. Some of the reviews I’ve read complained that Mitch and Alison fell for one another too quickly, but I think in life, sometimes you just know when it’s the right person. I found their instant attraction to be a nice change from the many books I’ve read where they hate each other at first and then find they do love each other.I work in an elementary school and have seen some of the social system at work. I believe this book gives a fair look at both the positive and negative aspects of the social system. Alison’s work was an interesting component of the book and added to storyline with some thought-provoking situations.All in all, this is another great read by Irene Hannon.

    Take a chance on this one
    This book certainly built up to some intense moments. The only incongruity I read was police officers questioning a suspect after an attorney was demanded and waiting until after questioning to give Miranda Rights. The chemistry between the protagonists worked. Some people wrote that the relationship moved to fast. I don’t agree. I don’t think it is that far off for a couple of people in their thirties who felt a connection to wonder if this could be the one. Mitch’s personality is bold and he speaks his mind. Alison is no shy wallflower batting her eyes and hiding her feelings. Their honest response to one another was a welcome change from the tortured hidden emotions I often read in romance novels. They didn’t actually commit to one another until much later. The bad guy point of view was creepy with his twisted logic and drug induced bravado. This is a good book and one that will be placed on my reread list

    Irene Hannon has been added to my favorite author list
    I’m an avid thriller reader. Just finished Irene Hannon’s Deadly Pursuit.First a little background. I came to learn of Irene because she and my wife shared a room at a Romance Writers Conference a few years ago.I’m a fan of books by Vince Flynn, Michael Connelly, Ben Coes, Tami Hoag to name a few. So I really wasn’t expecting much when it picked up a book by Irene Hannon. Especially since I figured she was a Romance Writer!Well, I’m eating crow today. This lady can write. I don’t know anything about plots and stuff, I just go with my gut and do I want to turn the next page? Let me tell you, Deadly Pursuit is a page turner and I highly recommend. I just spent the last 3 hours finishing the book because I couldn’t put it down. Irene can compete very favorably with the authors I mentioned above. I’ve just added Irene to my favorite authors list and I’ve got a bunch of reading ahead of me since she’s written over 30 books.So for me, live and learn, and don’t prejudge. Get Deadly Pursuit

    Animal lovers be warned – great otherwise
    I had a love hate relationship with this book. If you’re an animal lover be warned that page 149 – 160ish is tough to read. I almost stopped reading at that point, but I had enjoyed the book until then so I keep reading.As with most Irene Hannon books the bad guys are really creepy! The pain they cause is mind blowing. The book is a page turner, some pages turned with one eye closed afraid of what would come next.The Taylor family is adorable! Love, love, love Jake from book one. Mitch, Alison Taylor’s hero in this book, is great! I’m so looking forward to Cole’s story in book three.The book has a very happily-ever-after ending, but it was touch-and-go for a few pages.

    The Taylor Family legacy
    The youngest member of the Taylor’s, Allison, comes front and center as her life becomes more and complicated. Brother Cole introduces her to his new partner, Detective Morgan and sparks begin to fly. Emotional twists and turns produce plot angles being woven ever tighter until Allison’s existence is on the line. Her real live hero steps in with his skills as a Navy Seal and saves her life and earns her love forever. Without a hint of lewd or crass words or behavior this novel holds the reader enthralled, enchanted and entertained.

  9. Lynne Clark

    a bit scary for me and I generally like Irene’s books, but couldn’t read this one

  10. Gloria Kirk

    Excellent author. She kept me in suspense from the beginning of the book. It is great how she can weave her story withoutfinding out how they are going to catch the guilty one. I am reading FATAL JUDGMENT and I am enjoying it.Gloria Kirk

    Dee Henderson meets Karen Kingsbury. Fast paced thriller with a bit of romance thrown in. Once started, very hard to put down!

    This is the second book in the Guardians of Justice series. This time focusing on the Taylor sister, Allison. I was sucked into the story right away, it was hard to put down. I enjoyed the interactions between Allison and Mitch, loved that they expressed what they were thinking. I liked how Irene not only told the story from the good guys perspective but also from the bad guys. This enabled us to get into Darryl’s head and understand how he came to make the decisions he did and why he did, enjoyed knowing what led him to make his decisions. I loved how the story showed how God places people in the right place at the right time in order to rescue Allison from the kidnapper. There is a little cursing (without the actual words), animal cruelty, the suggestion of possible rape (doesn’t happen), and drug use mentioned. The most focused on is the drug use, showing how meth affects people. The other items are not graphically pictured. I felt having these negative items gave the story a more realistic feel.
