Beautiful
This manga was beautifully done, I loved everything about it! I was expecting this to be as explicit as Berserk, however I was pleasantly surprised that this went more towards a philosophical tone with some gore. I highly recommend this, even for just the artistry.One takeaway that I have to what other reviewers have said, I would have loved this to have been printed as a hard copy.

Great manga
Innocent by Shin’ichi Sakamoto is one of the best manga I’ve read. The art is definitely triple S tier. The story is a historical fiction detailing the life of Charles-Henri Sanson, executioner of Paris, France, and his family during the 1800s. I highly recommend reading this manga and also #DRCL by the same Manga creator . This is a 5/5 series so far. This omnibus collects the first 3 volumes of the series.

This should have been published as a hardback. It’s too thick & the artwork inside too beautiful for it to be in paperback. After one read it already has creases on the spine. I read #DRCL from a different publisher & it was made in hardback form (with no book jacket, my favorite) despite being much shorter. I do love this mangaka & there is a short documentary on youtube about how Sakamoto & his team creates this captivating art. I plan on getting the 2nd #DRCL & Innocent when they are available & I hope his stories keep getting published in America… in hardback, please

Gorgeous Visuals, high quality paperback, and complex story
If you’re into historical figures and their stories, I highly recommend this. it has more of a thriller perspective that lures you in. There are translation notes towards the end which is helpful in understanding differences between Japanese perspectives on French history. Very interesting. my only concern is that, i wish there were MORE colored pages, but you can’t expect much from a paperback. the author is insanely talented. just a parental warning: there is some nudity and graphic violence, so be wary before buying. i think this should be for a teen(16+) and up.

UNDERRATED MANGA
Beautiful artwork by Sakamoto himself and this is the first time it’ll be published in English. Can’t wait for the next releases and Innocent Rogue’s release!! If you like stories of emotion, drama, and show the rawness of human behavior, this series is for you!! Support the series and its creator. <3

Please I am so so happy that they finally translated to english. Obviously the story, the visual, the way they portrait emotion is so good I can’t even say anything at this point because I’ve been saying it for the past 2 years but anyway YOU NEED TO READ IT. NO JOKE. MY FAVOURITE BOOK OF ALL TIME. IT BEATS ALL THE NOVELS I’VE READ. (Ik it’s a manga and yes, I am a bookworm so thats saying something.) It’s really illegal for it too be so underrated.
