    Extremely Insightful Book . . .
Paul: A Biography is a very well laid out, as well as a VERY clearly scripture-referenced biography of Saint Paul. His historical background is traced from Tarsus, where he was originally known as Saul. Not only did he persecute the Followers of Jesus, and as he was ‘On The Road To Damascus’, he “SAW THE LIGHT”, so to speak, his life turned completely around. After his conversion to Christianity, Paul became, perhaps, One of the leading teachers, as well as a faithful martyr in the name of Jesus Christ! I was really looking forward to reading this book ! I gave the book 5☆ because of the noteworthiness of the subject and it’s well-known and scholarly author. In My Life, as well as For EVERY Christian, the Life Of Paul Is NECESSITY !! Historical speaking, a lot of this book was, sort of, “WHIZ” , over the top of my head. The OVERALL outline of Paul’s conversion, and Paul going here, then there ; and why … THAT , to me was very interesting. This book 📙 is a RECOMMENDED READ, but It IS DETAILED ! ! !You must be patient and not get frustrated. Sometimes if you’re not careful, one can allow ones reading to control You. I have that problem At Times. This book is Recommended.

Amazing is the life of Saul Paulus of Tarsus
Very impactful and applicable when you want to understand the thirteenth apostle. N T Wright retelling the life and times of Paul and the Roman Empire is very impactful plus easy to understand. I recommend you have your Bible close by. You will definitely appreciate this subject matter.

For me personally, it was a wonderful gift to have Paul situated in his historical context. He came to life as I listened to/read Wright’s book. Wright has a great skill for presenting the full, demanding beauty and reality of God’s love for us, and this apprehends any depiction of the Christian life as either airy-fairy detachment or secularism with a coat of paint – the two primary temptations of the modern West.I got into Wright’s writing this year after the passing of my Dad, himself a gifted preacher, who always told me, “Tom Wright really gets it.” Thanks in part to this book, I think that I get it now, too. Since reading “Paul: A Biography, I’ve bought and gifted it to my father-in-law and grandfather, and anticipate repeating this several more times.

I highly recommend this book. Compared to Wright’s other theology books this is much more accessible. He follows Paul’s journey from what we know from his letters and Acts and cautiously speculates about what we don’t know, filling in from other historical sources. The man Paul comes alive in these pages, which in turn makes his letters so much more approachable. Put in their contexts, much of what seems cryptic to the lay person in Paul’s letters suddenly starts to come together.
