Fun when I can kind of predict but things don’t go the way I thought
So this 1 I kept predicting what would happen next and I was right, but usually with a twist The solving of the mystery stream was the same. I figured it out Only to be wrong about who was doing it. Very very interesting. I keep hoping that she’ll come out with another book in the series, but it looks like this 1’s the end. Thank you for the grand adventure. I really love lady Darby.

Captivating
When Kiera’s father-in-law receives a letter from his aunt asking for help, she and Gage join him on the journey. There they meet Lord Gage’s maternal relatives and are plunged into a mystery with many twists and turns. This book explains much about Lord Gage’s history and treatment of his son. Ms. Huber is an excellent story teller whose characters are very realistic and stories are riveting.

Love this series! This was an engaging tale about family, secrets and smuggler’s. The characters growth was nice to see and the charm of the baby. Nice mystery as to who what where and when. More, please!

I look back at being on the edge of my seat for half the book and chuckle. So please be patient for it to happen because it will. I cant wait for number 13! To arrive.

An excellent composition
This is a worthy addition to the excellent Lady Darby mystery series. The core characters are asked to investigate another suspicious death, this time of a member of a branch of the Gage family from which Sebastian’s father has been estranged. Kiera, Sebastian, and Lord Gage quickly discover that all is not as it seems, and the supposed murder victim may not actually be dead. An intricate but not Byzantine plot, great scene setting, and wonderful characters made this hard to put down.

Fairly took my breath away!
Another excellent story by Anna Huber. Number 12 in a series, I suggest you read them in order. I warn you, she has a degree in psychology so you will see much emotion in all her characters. Each character changes as time goes by, as they should. Kiera is an artist, so many scenes are embellished with her observations of the land, sea and sky. I appreciate all the little details of flora and fauna ~ the clough, especially.And then, the mystery ~ so very strange and of course the buildup of the tension and the sudden ending of the villains. ð³ Very well written and the mystery, it turns out was not, and then it was, and then resolved. We never know the details of the other characters until the next book.Do get the book and enjoy it.
