Can’t wait to start the next in the series
So glad I stumbled upon this book! Likable characters, funny moments, no profanities, and twisting, turning mysteries. I’m looking forward to starting the next book now.

Great Read, Despite An Error, Or Two.
Enjoyable read from a beautiful local. Carson creates a compelling common day plot with interesting characters. A murder mystery that is surrounded by mundane events that make up yhe daily lives of complicated people. Aka, Amid the 9 to 5 doldrums and drama of everyday life, murder happens when you least expect it. Kind of like Nerf darts to the boob. Ya didn’t see that one coming. What do I base my stars on? 1) Great convincing characters. 2) The quality and solidity of the plot. Aka no holes a Matchbox semi could drive through. 3) Dialogue that is witty and enhances (not drives) the plot. 4) Compelling storyline. This book was all of that, but a reporter never burns her source.

Good series starter
I live in Washington state right on the Idaho border, so the Idaho setting for this book was perfect for me. My town and the Idaho town are both small, like Hopeless, and I grew up in a small town in rural Ohio, so I can easily relate to the people and the culture of Hopeless. I read a lot of cozy mysteries because they are relaxing. Some are great, some not so great. This is a good one and it has the makings of being a great series. Hope Walker is likeable and not a smart aleck know it all, with a hilarious granny. The story is credible, the mystery not too apparent, the writing is competent and the editing misses only a couple of errors. I enjoyed reading the author’s notes at the end. He has a good sense of humor which must serve him well as a stay at home dad with 8 kids. He promised to keep improving as a writer, and I plan to read more of this series to see if he followed through. This book is a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

Fun Read
Carson gives us a murder mystery with strong characters who are tough women of character or, maybe, they’re just characters. A fun read. A mystery which left me thinking, “Well, I didn’t see that coming! “

This book is a mix of all that a cosy mystery should be, containing just enough quirkiness, a great location, entertaining and interesting characters and a classic who done it.Well written and well paced, this book urges you to keep reading. Hope Walker is a feisty lead and superbly supported by the slightly disconcerting Granny and the terrific Katie Rogers.I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it therefore comes highly recommended.Oh, also contains frou-frou coffees.

Hope and Granny are delightful characters, the book is full of imagination and intrigue. I need six more words here.

It’s funny, it’s snarky and it keeps a good narrative running through it all. The Hope Walker Mysteries is definitely a series to delve into for a quick, fun read along with a cup of hot coffee.
