Please read my other McCourt reviews to get a better review of these marvelous books written by the McCourt brothers. Familiar with the book “Angela’s Ashes?” by Frank McCourt? Interested in all things Irish? Of Irish decent? Have Irish ancestors? Then these books are for you. If you have time to & like to read get these books because you won’t be able to put them down. All are easy reads. They’re very inexpensive on Amazon. Written by 3 McCourt brothers……Frank the “Teacher Man”, Malachy the bar owner, movie star (who talks about all the movie stars he met) & one other whose name always escapes me. Only Malachy is still alive & owns a bar in New York named after him. They came up out out dire poverty, death & misery to become happily married family men, eventually. Cons: Language.

Loved it! Breezed through it, but sad when I finished it b/c I had so many great laughs. I’ve read a couple of his other books, but this was my absolute favorite!

The book sketches Malachy’s adventures in his life. The book was quite choppy with truly little cohesiveness from chapter to chapter.

Great memoir
This book is really interesting, after reading Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt this was an obvious choice to hear the brother Malachy’s life version. I highly recommend it. Frank made me cry but Malachy made me laugh.
