Trustworthy, well-written, and an easy read.
This book is extremely well-written, very thorough yet concise, and very easy to read. I enjoyed the book thoroughly, even though it was assigned for my MN History class. :)It’s good to have a trustworthy book when it comes to history–this one published by the Minnesota Historical Society Press is one of those books!

    Good info but slightly boring
If you want to learn the history of Minnesota (and who doesn’t) this book has a decent amount of info in it but it is kind of boring. I have read several books that make history fun. Try anything by Terry Jones. Also I wish there was more on the Native Americans and on the Prohibition gangsters that went through the Twin Cities. I would say this book is a good basic overview but you are going to want to supplement it. ‘Minnesota 150’ and ‘Lost Twin Cities’ are good.

    History of Minnesota
Very good book and it was hard to put it down. I loved researching Minnesota and finding out how our ancestors lived. It is a little dry when talking about government but if you enjoy that kind of thing it wasn’t to bad. Covers all aspects of life in Minnesota from the dairy farmers to the crop growers. Loved all the discussions about the buildings and roads in Minnesota. I would recommend this book for High School age kids and older. I would definitely buy from this seller again as the price was more than compatible to the local stores and the shipping was extremely fast. I did not wait around for days waiting for it to arrive in the mail, I believe it was a matter of days.

    history of minnesota
Since I came to Minnesota three years ago, I have been searching for a comprehensive overview of its history. Not too detailed, just giving a good overview. I found it in this book, and really anjoyed reading it

    Fun and informative
This is a quick engaging overview of Minnesota history. This is a fun read. A real strength are the great resources for further exploration through additional books (with frank critiques) as well as specific sites to visit.
