From Clueless to Confident
Hale’s “Absolute Beginner’s Guide to Python Programming” is an absolute gem for someone like me who’s always been intrigued by coding but felt intimidated by it. This book is like having a patient, encouraging mentor by your side, breaking down complex concepts into bite-sized, digestible pieces. What sells this book for me is its hands-on approach. You’re not just passively reading; you’re actively building, creating, and problem-solving. The real-world projects are engaging and relevant, and the step-by-step guidance ensures you never feel lost or overwhelmed. It’s like having training wheels on a bike â they provide support until you’re ready to ride on your own.Hale’s writing is infused with a passion for the subject that’s contagious. He believes that anyone can learn to code, and his enthusiasm makes you believe it too. The book emphasizes that setbacks are not failures but opportunities to learn and grow. This mindset shift is invaluable, especially for someone like me who’s prone to self-doubt.By the end of the book, I was successfully coding and enjoying it.

Great for beginners
The book is full of useful information and resources. A great resource for beginners, there are some formatting issues to me with some of the text boxes and making the text harder to read. I was reading this with an iPad. Also there are a lot of unnecessary AI images.

Excellent jump in and start Python tutorial; not a 10 lb book.
Highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to immediately learn and use Python.Pro: * Terse * Clear/concise examples * Excellent syntax/coding practice tutorial * Easy to start Python programmingCon: * Doesn’t cover every minutae of Python * If you think 10 lb coding books are a great “deal” due to pages per $, this concise book is not for you * Won’t build up your bicep lifting this book.Summary:If you have no coding experience or want to learn a new language like Python, this is the book for you. There are other books for advance Python that you can progress to. But this book is all you need to start.

Python programming here I come
Python programming is something anyone can accomplish. I say that because of this author’s book on Python. It’s constructed in an easy to follow step by step even for those that have never programmed before. You will accomplish simple programming very fast and then move on to fundamental concepts, key programming constructs, practical applications and so on and on. By the end of the book as long as you follow the guidance provided you will be able to do basic programming. As you feel comfortable, you will be able to tackle more complex assignments. You will learn at your own pace and be proud in the end.

Good book. It’s a little dense, but it is otherwise well organized and nicely put together. I found it useful.

Started learning Python that year. Came across this guide, which helped me fill gaps in my knowledge very well. The information is presented excellently and clearly. It’s great that the author demonstrated practical application: real-life examples illustrate how Python can be used in various scenarios, and there are cool practical exercises with explanations. Best of all are the career ideas: tips on creating a programming portfolio and improving career prospects.
