Good story, too much religion for me
This was a good military scifi story. In my opinion, it was too religious for me. Again, for me!I’m glad I read it, but not interested in following books. Not because it was strongly pro-Jewish, but it was too religious period.

Religion not my interest
I liked the premise of this novel. It held my interest and entertained me. I did not care for the religious aspect of the story, I felt like I was being indoctrinated in Judaism. I believe, religion is primitive and a major source of conflict for a rational world, point proven by this story.

Well Crafted Space Opera
This is really quite a well-written example of the Space Opera genre. It recounts the adventures of a mighty warship, The Lion of Judah, and several companion vessels who are sent, inexplicably, through a worm-hole to a completely different galaxy. They are unimaginably far from home with limited supplies and only themselves to depend upon.Major General David Cohen, a Jewish officer is the main protagonist, but there is a well conceived supporting cast.I liked this book very much. The author is great at world-crafting, the dialogue seems natural. There is not much in the way of character growth, except for a few lessons learned by General Cohen, but that is nor really expected in this genre. I don’t usually like cliff-hangers and am not a fan of series books. But this novel had a satisfying ending, even all the existential threats are not defeated and the essential problem of returning home is not solved. There are references to people of faith and the idea of a sovereign God is not ridiculed, which is a very refreshing change. Bravo, Daniel Gibbs!

I’ve yet to read the next book, but this was a great introduction to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, it’s story, and it’s characters. The religious aspects were a little more than I care for, but a great read nonetheless.

From the first to the last a great story, well worth the read. Keeps you wanting more, excellent to the very last page

A little different space fiction with too much emphasis on prayers and religion. There wasn’t much technology and not much battles. The book started in an exciting way, but failed to keep up the expectation.

Excellent story with truly interesting characters. If you enjoy sci fi and military novels it’s truly a great read. Worth a much higher price than it’s listed at.
