First off, I want to day that Bryn Greenwood knows how to tell a story.At first I really didn’t want to finish, had to stop more than once just to digest what I’ve read.But I needed to finish, and I am so glad I did.We all have known someone who is struggling with addiction, and how it not onlyaffects the user but it really affects everyone involved, the children, parents…And as far as Wavy, I don’t know if she would’ve survived her ordeal if it hadn’t been for Kellen? Anyways, if you’ve not read it, please do! Great story

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with such a difficult subject and still managed to absolutely love it. I’ve seen this book billed as many things – a romance, a love story, a tragic lover’s tale – but the dirty truth of the matter is that it is a story of paedophilia, one which I was totally drawn in by and totally repulsed by in equal measure. This book should never be considered a ‘good read’, but it is! It’s more than a good read, it’s absolutely brilliant! I think the reason why I loved it so much is because the two lead characters, Wavy and Kellen, are both broken souls. Broken by their upbringing, the lack of parental love and guidance, and finding each other in a life where everything is just really, really awful, these two were always going to be drawn together. It’s a tough one for sure, and I think the author has been really brave to come up with this as her debut. It’s without a doubt one of my all time favourite books.

Good book, good story, although some aspects of the writing of the author bothered me. The dialogs are not very natural, and sometimes the characters are too caricatural. Besides that, sometimes the story is resolved with little or no explanation. The dramatic structure is well played and well distributed throughout the book. The main character, Wavy, is well constructed and we do feel very sympathetic to her. We feel the romance and we, of course, end up wanting them to stick together.

Il libro mi è piaciuto tantissimo.. Le descrizioni dei personaggi e dei luoghi sono talmente vivide che si sente di conoscere intimamente le persone e i luoghi descritti nel libro.. Leggendo un commento su Amazon.com dicendo che il libro dà un “benestare” alla pedofilia secondo me non abbia capito il libro – non sono per niente d’accordo! à questo pensiero che viene smentito proprio dalla storia che il libro racconta.. Quante coppie esistono dove c’è una differenza d’età di 10 – 15 anni tra donna e uomo? à un libro ben scritto e che fa venire la voglia di andare avanti sempre durante la lettura per sapere “come andrà a finire”! Lo consiglio!

My first thoughts before opening this book was hmmn not sure this will be for me, then I started to understand and accept how this situation could come about in the way it did, does this make me weird or a freak… probably and I’m so not sorry, love love love this story! The writing is incredible, the emotions it stirs wow what a roller coaster.
