A good collection of stories
Billed as a collection of horror stories, this anthology by L. R. J. Allen does not disappoint. I will say that I felt some of the stories were suspense or dark fantasy than horror, but overall most were great stories and an easy read. Some left me feeling a gamut of emotions and provoked thoughts. My two personal favorites were “In the Headlights” and “Mr. Rumples.”

A thrilling anthology
The author created an anthology of short stories that kept me perched upon the edge of my seat. The majority of stories led me down a macabre path. It was just where I wanted to go. This book comes recommended for anyone who has the desire to be shocked to the core.

predictable and not proofread
Please proofread your work. Or have someone else do it. Made it very hard to read and should not happen! Lazy.

These stories are gruesomly excellent. I’m not the fastest of readers but I found I was working my way through the pages with ease. Each story is completely different, sucking you into the creepy world which L.R.J Allen created. Utterly brilliant.

What can I say, good gripping stories to keep you hooked. Thoroughly enjoying this book, so many different stories, even one relating to the paranormal. When is the next book due out?

Let me preface this with the fact that I normally avoid horror in all forms. Its just not really my choice of escapism.there are a few exceptions and i am happy to say this collection is one of them. I also brough this as a I know the author and in the age ole, “support your mates”, move I did decide to read it. Im also quite the type to let you know exactly how I feel about things so if i hated it you’d have an idea.As a whole I really enjoyed this book, for the most part the stories flow and build up great mental image of whats happening. I cant say i enjoyed each one equally there are one that stand out far above the rest, such as Mr Rumples, however each one does the, (subjective), mental escape its intended to do.The best way I can describe how reading this was, for me anyway, akin to watching episodes of “The Twilight zone” or ” Creepshow”, even a slight “Unsolved Mysteries” about it (queue haunting music). Not the cheesey crap but the good ole facinating stories that kinda make you wonder and leave you thinking a little after each one. There are surprising elements of humour, both macarbe and genuinely funny.Over all for a first, this is a very strong first. It is very encouraging for waht the future might hold for this author. So to Mr Allen, keep going, never give up and from a person who usually cant stand this genre, I loved it.
