    Quick and Fun
A well written, quick read. I finished it in 2 hours while my kids played at the pool. I found it entertaining.

    Good read
Good read! Moved along nicely, kept me interested. Just one thing, the word grizzly used when it should have been grisly.

  3. Joelle Baker

    I found it very familiar.
It was basically Zoo or Beast. I really expected something better from Wright. It’s 200 pages and it is a very quick read.

    Scary
This book is a work of horror, which I’m sure was the intent of the author. Animals everywhere turning against humans. Seven people trapped in the office building at the zoo. All the zoo animals are surrounding the building led by an enormous silverback gorilla. How do you escape? Do you escape? That is your reason for reading the story. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in horror or adventure. Its a really good look at what would happen if the animals decided they were superior.

    Great story!
The characters were quite enjoyable and relatable. Wish there had been more info on the cause. And it seems the author needs to look up the definitions of racism as opposed to sexism.

    Make you think
This book creeped me right out. Because! What if this really happened??? The world would be over as we know it. This is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Go ahead, read it, you won’t be sorry.

    Interesting
There were a lot of questions at the end of the book. No spoilers. I did like how his characters mostly stayed in character. One of them has a rather irritating quirk, but that is part of what made him seem real. It’s not one for the bookshelf, but I will probably read more of Mr. Wright’s books.

A trip to the zoo turns into a nightmare for visitors hoping to spend a lazy warm day checking out the inhabitants. For Joe, the zoo was the perfect choice for his day with his son Danny. Danny had never been and Joe was happy to be the first to take him. Things very quickly go south as the animals start attacking the visitorsI found this to be a really nice read. One that you devour as you speed from page to page. My advice is to find yourself a nice corner on the couch or sling your legs over your favorite stuffy chair and settle down for a wild ride.

Spotted this book after reading The Final Winter, decided it looked interesting (I do love an apocalypse story) so popped it in my book list as I had (and still have) a huge back catalogue of purchased books in real life and in kindle! I DEFINITELY WISH I’D JUST BOUGHT IT AND READ IT THEN!This book was excellent and I’d have read it much quicker if life hadn’t got in the way! Still I smashed through it and even on nights when I was exhausted still fell asleep with it in my hands.Nice easy read with characters you care about or hate making it very easy to lose time reading! Good flow to the story and just enough detail without overloading with gore – nice to see a writer who allows my imagination to do a bit of work! Now I go back to my list for 2020 but when I’m done I’ll be seeing what other offerings Mr Wright has for me! Thanks for the book it was great!

This story is gripping and kept me on my toes the whole time. I just love Iain Rob Wright’s delivery and writing style. He knows how to keep your attention. The story is of survival when animals go berserk and starting killing off people. A day at the zoo turned into a nightmare as survivors are left to fend for themselves against the animals. The characters are the cookie cutter stereotypes with the good guys being the good guys and the bad guys being vile and despicable. As the animals raged on, the survivors themselves turn into each other as pressure and stress mounts up.This is a nice, good read and highly recommended for IRW fans. However, being an animal lover, I just didn’t like how the animals were portrayed in this book. They just gained a high level of intelligence and claimed the top of the food chain with no reason or explanation why. This left most readers hanging and I felt it was incomplete. But overall, a nice read.

I’ve a few of his books now and they have all been gripping reads. Real page turners full of engaging characters, plenty of twists and all seem to have a new take on various genres.Animal Kingdom is no different. A compelling read. I only gave it 4 stars however because I thought the first 10-15% of the book seemed rather rushed and amateurish in style. It just seemed like the characters actions and reactions to events were highly unrealistic. Once the book hits the 15% mark however; it shifts up a gear and becomes a thrilling read.I highly recommend this book to anyone and, if like me, you don’t enjoy the opening chapters, I urge you to persevere. There is an excellent horror novel waiting to be discovered!
