   Survival under horrendous conditions.
   This collection of accounts of survival will give you a new appreciation of the resilience of humans in unthinkable situations. This is not fiction but rivals most fiction that I have read.As I read these accounts, I was amazed by the survival instincts of the people discussed. They survived boiling heat, horrendous cold, inhospitable terrain and a total lack of sustenance. Given all that, these people managed to persevere and survive. I gained a completely new appreciation for the human spirit.

   Great stories
   Although I was quite familiar with the stories of Louis Zamperini and the 12 Thai boys in the cave, the other stories were unknown to me. But what stories they were! Shackleton in Antarctica was a true pioneer. Going back more than once after going through daunting challenges, he kept going back there. Yet somehow, they survive to tell the tale.

   This was an awesome read. This book contains ten stories of survival. There are several stories of people that got into different situations where they needed rescuing. It also discusses how teamwork can help in a difficult situation. I enjoyed reading this and I couldn’t put it down.

   Amazing addition
   We homeschool and this was an amazing addition to our curriculum. My kids love survival and everything outdoors. We are using Campfire Curriculum Survive off the Land, and doing their Camping units, and this was perfect to go with those!
