Great for teaching your kids
I homeschool and got this to start teaching my son guitar. He is easily frustrated so I wanted to get something simple. Large print and detailed explanations make this a good beginner book for kids. There is also an option to go online to their website to watch the chords being played and the songs being strum. The book focuses on four string chords for the first half and then goes to six string cords in the second half. Overall you only really learn four chords and about a dozen songs, but it’s a great starting point to build confidence.
Came super fast and was the perfect gift for my little girl. She loved it. Lots of little pieces and seem to be pretty good quality. –

Beginner Guitar Lessons
Arrived in a very timely fashion, lessons were very well thought out and the accompanying on-line tutorials were perfect.

Perfect for beginners
I’ve played guitar for a few years, and my little brother decided that he wanted to learn. I found him a nice used guitar and got him some starter materials for Christmas, including this book. I wanted something that would be good for a beginner, but not too boring. Of course, I have been teaching him and I know the material covered in the book, but I wanted a sort of framework.I’ve been really pleased with the book. It does a great job teaching the basics, like how hold and tune the guitar. I also like how it teaches simplified chords right off the bat. It has a large variety of recognizable songs that gradually increase in difficulty. I think being able to play songs they know really helps kids get excited about music and makes practicing more fun.I would highly recommend this book for any beginners.

Good lesson book.
This was a birthday gift for my 8 yr old granddaughter. The first lesson the instructor said “this is a good book, where did you get it?”.

Just okay…
Aesthetically this book is well laid out and unless a student is familiar with the songs, then learning to play chords for them is not as motivating. The recordings are helpful but when I’m teaching a lesson, I had to skip over a bunch of songs because they are older nursery rhyme songs which this new generation knows nothing about AND one student is 1st gen American, so this teen grew up with a whole other set of childhood songs. I would have liked to see some note reading and basic tablature in the book but maybe it’s just me. Maybe this is good enough for ‘most’ children, and the one I bought this for, the songs were not as relevant.

Excellent for beginner – Early success
My elementary school-age son has always been interested in guitar. As a complete beginner, he was able to sit down and start playing several familiar songs within just 2 days of working through this book. Two days!!! My husband and I are shocked. The early success really seems to have hooked him, because he’s been asking to practice every day ever since he got started (about 10-20 minutes at a time), and now the more advanced chords that he’s currently working on, although harder, haven’t deterred his enthusiasm. All that said, this book has proven itself to be an excellent choice for getting my son started on the guitar.

This book arrived quickly well packed, it was a present so do not know how useful it was, but looks a comprehensive book.

A good book to learn easy basic songs on your guitar journey

A well laid out book with easy to follow instructions. Putting the videos of the instructions on their website is a real bonus as kids can see exactly how to play each song. I definitely recommend this book.
