A classic available in hardcover for long term keeping
We have this classic Maine book in paperback, but I recently bought it for a friend in hardcover and was wowed by the quality. It’s a nice size for kids and parents to read together – not overly large like some of the other McCloskey hardcover versions. Great story for 3-6 year old age range and nostalgic for anyone millennial and older.

My grandchildren live in Union Maine. I had to have this book for them. They live on 500 undeveloped land. You can be walking thru the forest and come upon an opening of field with blueberries. They have a bear that really visits when food is scarce. I had to have this book for them. The story is a classic in Maine.

A lovely book with the charm of the olden days. Lovely illustrations as expected and a good quality paper! Would love to collect more in this genre! I love how this subtlely speaks of how we share resources with other creatures! A lesson we certainly we need to learn and teach the younger ones.
