    A+ for this book!
I teach a course on business and finance, and it’s for master’s level students in public relations. I’ve used this textbook for several years in both the face-to-face classroom setting and online, and it’s been outstanding in both venues! Every semester, students rave about the textbook; the adjective, awesome, has come up a number of times! One student told his friends and coworkers about Finance for Nonfinancial Managers; he described the book’s approachability and ease of understanding — and said “there is literally a waiting list to borrow it from me after the class!”Gene Siciliano breaks down complicated concepts into bite-size chunks. Students who were totally intimidated about business and finance at the beginning of the semester said they felt comfortable and confident by the end. This textbook is a perfect guide for this class, but I really it’s relevant to anyone, from the college student to anyone in the workforce who wants to build their financial IQ. I’d give the book a six-star rating (but only five are allowed!)

    Finance for Non-financial Managers Review
Mr. Siciliano does a great job of explaining very complicated and sometimes dry subject matter in a understandable and easy way. Dare I say he even makes it fun, with his sense of humor too. For example, he uses a hypothetical example throughout the book called the Wonder Widget Company. You might know that the balance sheet contains both assets and liabilities? But at the bottom of the assets is a catchall category called, “cleverly”, Other Assets! In another section, in Chapter 12, The Annual Budget, he titled “Tools for Telling the Future: Budgets, Forecasts, Projections, and Tea Leaves”! Of course this is serious subject matter, but Gene Siciliano writes with a flair and whether this is required reading for class or you are looking for an edge in understanding accounting reports, I would highly recommend this book. Improving your basic financial comprehension
Great for understanding finacial terminology especially if you are in the business world. Easy to read and it provides you with examples that are relatable. Increased by understanding and vocabulary

Very easy to read common sense approach to understanding finance
Very easy to read common sense approach to understanding finance.Gene’s approach hits the mark and can provide valuable insight for people that are not normally immersed in the financial world.I would recommend this book to both people that understand finance and those that do not, during my read I found myself several times thinking ” WOW that part was a great refresher” and I am someone that has been involved in finance and had P&L responsibility for several companies. This book is a great ongoing resource for everyone!

    Bad grammar and punctuation
I’ve found several grammar and punctuation mistakes and that drives me absolutely crazy. Also there is an unnecessary amount of analogies that go on for pages. If you have any experience with finances, this book is going to be incredibly frustrating as it explains things in such an odd way. This was a required book for a course I’m taking in my graduate program, but since I took 3 accounting courses and one financial management course in undergrad, this book doesn’t help me much.

Very good book for managers who don’t have finance background. As a Director of engineering, I found this book very insightful. Prescribed for reading as part of MBA at Jack Welch Management Institute (JWMI)
