So cute
This book really was so cute. I got it as a birthday gift for a friends 3 year old boy. When it arrived I read it before hand it it made me tear up, so sweet and a nice meaning. I kept referring to myself as a grumpy monkey whimsically throughout the day whenever I felt myself getting frustrated and it honestly made me chuckle and helped. Definitely gonna gift it again for other littles in my life.

A fantastic story for all ages
The story was well-developed through the life of a monkey who was always grumpy despite his many friends that sought to cheer him up. Finally he was able to lose his grumpiness through another animal whom he befriended that had a true reason to be “grumpy.”The story has lessons for all of us, regardless of age or circumstances. The artwork is fabulous and the book is clearly a gem for children’s libraries.

Great book for young children
Everything about this book is made to appeal to young readers… from the illustrations to the bright colors, to the story. I bought this for my 6 year old niece, and watched with pleasure the joy with which she read through it. Without any prompting whatsoever, she was very animated and dramatized as she went along. It was certainly a joy to watch. She clearly enjoyed the story, and was able to hold a discussion about what she read afterwards. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the book is awkwardly sized… not as big as her other big story books, but not as small as her other smaller ones either. So it kinda juts out on the shelf. In the scheme of things though, that’s not a con in her eyes, cuz its easier for her to spot and reach for. She loves it!

I AM NOT GRUUUUUMPYYYYY! We just love that book 🙂 !!!! My kids are 3y and 5y but we have it for a couple of months now, so it would be suited for a 2-year old as well. And 5 year is still appropriate as it is a nice rhyming book, with good language inside and kids might still struggle to explain how they feel at that age 🙂
