A concise, well structured guideline to position youself and influence others
In “How to get away with anything,” (title could be a little misleading but stands out nevertheless), Butcher provides a concise set of behavioral strategies that should help you position youself, make better decisions, define your values and your stand, and infleuncr others based on who you are at your core. The advices are based on research and supported by numerous references to prior studies. Overall, a great and concise (appreciate that as many books on the subject are bloated with repeating the same point over and over). Well recommended.

Numerous useful strategies for leaders
This is a powerhouse of creative ideas for persuading and influencing others. As a school psychologist, these communication strategies ring true such as listening to others, finding points of mutual agreement, and knowing when to be loud or quiet. I particularly liked the sections on intervening effectively, knowing our values and passions, interrupting, and what to say and not to say. Excellent food for thought, particularly for those in leadership positions!

How to make anything happen
This book explains how and when to be persuasive . It teaches decision making techniques, how to make the right choice for yourself..How you can learn to take a stand. It taught me how to interrupt politely while showing that your actively participating in the conversation. Also how to use conviction while arguing. This book helped teach me a lot things that aren’t taught in public schools. I definitely appreciate learning about this topic

I was curious what information might help me “get away with anything”…
…so I picked up this book. While I don’t feel I learned that, I did learn about how people make decisions and act confidently, which, I guess could be how some people get away with a lot more than they could otherwise. After all, someone told me once that wearing a black cape and walking confidently would open the right doors. And they were right. I’ll never forget that.Seems like this book offers similar advice in much more details, so it’s worth a read for anyone trying to really connect with their confident inner decisionator. *smiles*

The title of this book implies it is all about effectively putting your case to others, and it does do that, but it also offers some solid background into human cognitive processes. Everything from scoping options to making decisions, understanding your own preferences, the payoff of decisions and getting to the core of your argument is handled in this book. It is well researched and well written, covering many points of contemporary thinking about how we function in an increasingly noisy and crowded marketplace. I highly recommend this book for anyone feeling overwhelmed or anyone who struggles with self doubt when making the big decisions in life and business.
