A Sci-Fi Adventure with Depth and Thrills
“Last Days of Colbosh” by C.L. Roberts is a thrilling sci-fi adventure that had me hooked from the get-go. The unique premise of a non-human protagonist, Colbosh, a humanoid lizard and a hybrid experiment on a quest for revenge against those who annihilated his people, sets the stage for a fast-paced, action-packed journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. The world-building in this book is not just vivid, but also deeply immersive, painting a detailed picture of a post-war galaxy where humans and aliens are at odds. Colbosh, a humanoid lizard and a hybrid experiment, is a fascinating character whose relentless pursuit of justice and vengeance drives the narrative forward. His cold-hearted determination is compelling and thought-provoking, making him a unique and memorable protagonist. The story also delves into deeper themes of moral complexity and ethical dilemmas, mainly through characters like Admiral Eugene Miguel Frost, who grapples with the consequences of his wartime actions. These layers of introspection add depth to the otherwise high-octane plot, elevating the book beyond a typical space opera. While the action sequences are gripping and the plot twists keep you on your toes, the book does have some rough edges. The pacing can be uneven sometimes, and certain characters could use more depth. Additionally, the formatting and overuse of exclamation points can be distracting.Despite these minor flaws, “Last Days of Colbosh” is a must-read for fans of military science fiction. The blend of action, moral conflict, and rich world-building makes for an engaging and thought-provoking read. C.L. Roberts has created a captivating universe with complex characters and a storyline that keeps you glued to the pages. This book is worth your time if you’re seeking a sci-fi adventure with substance.

Action packed, but could use some polish.
“The Last Days of Colbosh” by CL Roberts is an intriguing science fiction tale that delves into the realm of universe building. The story is fast-paced, with action unfolding at a breakneck speed. While this pace keeps the reader engaged, it sometimes feels overwhelming, leaving the impression that the book could be expanded into a longer, more detailed saga. One of the standout aspects of the protagonist, Colbosh, is his complexity. He is both brilliant and driven, yet haunted by a dark past. This multifaceted character adds depth to the narrative, making him an unparalleled protagonist in the science fiction genre. However, the book is not without its flaws. Some sentence structures and misspellings detract from the overall reading experience. Editorial polish would greatly benefit the work, refining the writing and enhancing the reader’s immersion.Despite these issues, “The Last Days of Colbosh” remains an enjoyable read. The author’s ability to craft a compelling narrative that keeps the reader turning the pages is undeniable. With some refinement, this book has the potential to become a truly exceptional work of science fiction.

I didn’t like it at all
Usually, if I don’t like a book, I simply don’t review it. In matters of taste, we all have different views. That being said, having bought this book because of the other reviews, I feel it’s prudent to comment about the quality of the book. The premise is quite intriguing, the idea of a non human protagonist is interesting, the obvious difficulty of having romantic scenes made me decide to go ahead and purchase it. Right from the beginning, we have Colbosh going heroically forth to avenge the death of his people. The dastardly humans had destroyed his planet, he knew who the culprit was and will make him pay. But PLOT TWIST, the man was following orders! Some one else was responsible!! Revenge was not complete!!! And the reason for the exclamation points is that there is a solid paragraph with! Exclamation! Points! In! Each! Sentence! I kid you not. So, on to he next foe. He would extract revenge and finally his ancestors would rest easy, but WAIT! This foe says there was another who actually was the one that… right. Also, now that we are on our third villain, of sorts, turns out that Colbosh was, after all, not the last one of his kind. He finds another, but, WAIT, plot twist, it’s from a rival clan and he swore a blood oath to kill all from that clan. BUT! This new guy knows of the REAL responsible for killing Colbosh planet… I could go on, but you get the gist. Very badly edited, terrible formatting. Really a shame. The idea is good, but needs a ton of development and a ton of editing.
