Sweet and very well written
Kristin Hannah is a wonderful storyteller and writer. Most of her novels are bestsellers. Although the coincidenses of plot twists are sometimes too contrived, the way she describes the conflicts of the characters is masterful. She portrays them as imperfect and human. They are multidimensional and believable. The relationship between Annie and Izzy is especially moving. It is a page turner.

Good book but…
I really liked this book. The characters are so likable and description of the area is lovely. I found myself confused several times in the book. It almost seemed like the Kindle version is a result of bad editing. At times it was very choppy, jumping from one scenario to another without any explanation. Very strange

Truths about some marriages
I likes the warmth of the main two characters. I liked the maturity of Natalie. I disliked the husband for many reasons. There is a huge contrast between California and Mystic Lake. There is a disloyal husband, a wife who attempts to maintain a hopeless marriage, loves that have lasted for years, a death that leaves a six year old with emotional problems, an alcoholic who feels lost, and RESPONSIBILITIES of the characters – some not met and others hopelessly lost in this tale of human natures.

Story told thousands of times: trusting wife betrayed, feels devastated, then realize that there has been something missing from her life for quite a while, reunites with an old boyfriend (himself heartbroken by his wife’s death), falls in love with him and with his little daughter, discovers that she is pregnant by her wandering husband, who realizes that he had made a mistake, duty, blabla bla bla bla. Everyone is beautiful, deep and clever, etc. I had to skip some parts as the descriptions were repetitive and getting boring.Chick litt summer read
