    Follow Your Dream
I don’t know what is more beautiful in this book: the story or the illustrations. The story is all you need to tell every kid you are talking to: have your dreams, work on them, and don’t abandon them just because they are different and “inappropriate” – whatever that would mean for a dream. The illustrations are amazing and cute and fit the story perfectly. If you have a kid of any age, give them this book. You won’t regret it.

    Too cute
A book about encouragement. I love that even though Bear is big and clumsy, mouse encourages him to go for what he wants. A beautiful read and great illustrations for my little girl to follow along at bed time.

My grandkids all enjoyed this story at bedtime, the girls and the boy. The illustrations are cute, too.

    THIS SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING!
This is an AMAZING story that EVERYONE needs to read! It’s hard to rise above everyone telling you what you cannot do. I ought to know. My mother decided to put me in a talent show when I was 4 years old. (No. I have no idea why.) I learned Que Sera Sera. The big day finally came. I was standing there waiting to sing my song, but the lady talking would NOT stop talking about my dress! FINALLY she ran out of steam, and it was my turn to sing. I remember thinking that I did a pretty good job. When I got backstage, Mother said, “You did pretty good. You only made 7 mistakes!” Absolutely CRUSHED me!Then it was piano lessons. Do you have any idea how hard it is to hold down the pedal KNOWING your mother is counting every mistake you make! And of COURSE she has to tell you! EVERY SINGLE TIME!Listen, folks! Do NOT do that to your children! I mean DO NOT!!! I CAN sing, and in my head I know that. I started college with a double major in piano and voice. When we retired and moved to AR, a lot of people commented on our singing. (Hubby was a voice major.) One woman even invited me to join the city’s a capella choir. Nope. Couldn’t do it. I can sing all day at church (a capella) because I am singing with the entire congregation. But sing a solo? There isn’t enough wealth in a thousand galaxies that will EVER make me do that!Children need to be encouraged. Sure, people need to be taught that a job done well is important. However, a job well done is very rarely a perfect job. We don’t have to be perfect! We need to be encouraged to do the best job we can do!Sam the Bear almost gave up his dream because his friends told him over and over and over that he couldn’t do that! Good thing he found someone who helped him work towards that dream – not walk away from it.I’m going to be 72 in a few months, and Mother is still in my head. It’s okay because I never wanted to be a famous singer or pianist. I wanted to teach music in schools. Turns out I taught both in a studio by the time I was in high school.I don’t care if you have friends that don’t even have any children yet. STRONGLY encourage them to read this book! Give a copy to your children’s teachers. Buy a copy for the library! I am SERIOUS! This is something every person on the planet needs to read. I have written a LOT of book reviews, but this is the ONLY time I have ever said EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS.I have heard of kids on missionary trips who did far more than ANYONE expected them to do. Why? Because no one told them they couldn’t! If you only pay attention to one sentence in this review, back up and make it that last one.I also heard about a football coach who told his players to do the best they could do on the field. Then when they got back to the locker room they had to look at themselves in the mirror and tell themselves they did the best they could have done. One day one of the players was on the verge of tears after the game. No one knew what was wrong. They won the game! In fact, this very player had made the winning play. The coach and teammates tried to tell him it was okay! He did a GREAT job! But he told them he couldn’t face himself in the mirror because he knew he hadn’t done a great job. He knew he hadn’t done his best.I don’t care if a child makes a C on a test or report card if it was his best effort. Don’t stomp your child’s dream into the mud. Instead find a way to HELP HIM! Be his rabbit coaching him all the way to victory! (You’ll get it when you read the book.)

    Love the story
This story is quite interesting, and my daughter enjoys it a lot. She used to listen to me read it to her, and now she can read it to me herself. The illustrations also captivate young children.

Sam the Bear and his Dream
I kept a copy of ‘Sam the Bear and his Dream’ in my classroom library and I have a Kindle eBook copy I used with the classroom projector system, so the children could see all the pictures as I read the story to them.Sam has a dream to become a sailor and his friends discouraged him until he visite a hare that had been a sailor. The hare became his teacher and after studing he reached his dream. This is a good lesson for young children so they learn to problem solve and reach their dreams and goals with hard work.
