    Great story
I could not stop reading many great characters and lots of action. It is so sad what these innocent people were subjected to.

Quick read and a great story
This was a well written book with vivid descriptions written in first person. A piece of history that should be NOT be forgotten because it seems this history is on the brink of being repeated

    Holocaust book
This book was told by a child survivor of the holocaust. It is easy to read and full of details that every person should know. Heartbreaking.

So riveting. I cried many times while reading this haunting story.
How anyone survived these atrocities is beyond imagination. And yet this boy did. I’ve read accounts of forgiveness but how was that possible. How could humans be so cruel. How?

Decent book, but writing is tiny!
Purchased this for my MIL as a Christmas gift. She loves biographies and this was right up her ally. However, the writing was so small, even my 20/20 vision had trouble reading this. I highly suggest you either look for a large print edition, or purchase a magnifier to go with it…

I was surprised by how this book was written. I thought it was going to be more of a story with dialogue and development, however, most of the book is written in a way that you feel like the events are being narrated to you by a survivor. It’s so well done, but it took me about a week to get through it. I’m quite a fast reader, but in this case, I could only read so much at a time. The subject material is heavy and dark and it forced me to slow down and absorb the impact of it through the eyes of someone who was actually there. I 100% recommend this read!

This account of a young boys experiences of the Holocaust is deeply moving and very sensitively handled. The horrors of what took place are unimaginable and then the heroism of 1 man that affected so many young lives is very heartwarming. I recommend it but be prepared for deeply shocking revelations of the face of evil unleashed in mans inhumanity to man.
