Great fun read
Great fun easy to read, and surprise ending. I felt like I could join the people in the story. A must read

Good read
With out the Alaskan setting and the Iditarod it would be a run of the mill romance. With this setting and learning about dog racing, it kept my interest from start to finish. The Red Lantern Award being the best part. You’ll have read the book to get that figured out.

Faithful
Epic saga of betrayal, faith and endurance. A condition of his grandfather’s will demanded that Henry III compete in the Iditarod or his entire estate all heirs would inherit nothing. Agreeing to help a friend work with rescued sled dogs, Scarlet decides she likes racing and decides to compete also., thus making them bitter competitors.

Fascinating adventure and romance
The Brightest Light is a fascinating adventure and romance. I love Lauren(from Book 1), Scarlett, Henry and all the dogs. Scarlett and Henry have an interesting meeting. Ms. Storm presents a lot of information about training for the Iditarod which is an important part of the story. I love Scarlett’s determination and that she soon realizes that you cannot judge a man by the sins of his grandfather. This well written book captured my interest as I watched Scarlett and Henry overcome some hurdles and fall in love.

Entertaining
Easy to follow stand-alone. No editing errors, graphic violence or drag-you-down drama. There is mention of animal cruelty. This storyline is fast-paced with descriptive writing that draws the reader into each scene. The dog care and racing is flexible but not totally unreasonable. Believable characters with distinct personalities. Thought-provoking dialogue. No desire to re-read this story. I always look forward to works by this author.

Great
Scarlett went to the ball alone. Shane and his daughter were gonna meet her there but they were running late. A guy kept staring at Scarlett and she finally worked up enough courage to confront him. He wouldn’t tell her his name when she asked him . Just said that she didn’t know him but would. It turned out he was Henry Mitchel the 111 and he was fulfilling a bucket list of his late grandfather’s so he could and his family could inherit. Scarlett and her friend Lauren and Lauren’s husband didn’t like the grandfather. When he was alive he mistreated dogs and a lot of them died. He was Henry the 1st, his son was Henry the 2nd , and the grandson was Henry the 3rd. Scarlett found out what Henry the 3rd was really like but, didn’t tell her friend Lauren because she was asked not to. Eventually she did confide in Lauren’s husband but asked him not to tell Lauren. Then when she was fired from the library she thought Henry lied to her. She started hating him but underneath that she really liked him. When they were both in the big dog sled race Scarlett ‘s dog had a cut on his paw from the ice and she had to leave him at one of the checkpoints. It started sleeping so she took a trail around the river and lost control and went over and in to the river. She managed to get out and pull her dogs out. She realized none knew where she was so none would come looking for her but, Henry who was keeping tabs on her during the race was told at one of the checkpoints she hadn’t checked in. So he turned around and found her. Her dogs kept her warm till Henry found her. He wanted to forfeit the race but she said no they would both finish. They came in last and though Scarlett didn’t know that won an award for that. After his family disowned him and left the awards ceremony his grandfather’s attorney came up to him and told him he didn’t need to win the race as long as he placed and he inherited everything from his grandfather.

A Clean Read About the Iditarod
This was an interesting story with good characters. Even different dog’s personalities were discussed. The dangers are real. I found the pre race trainings to be interesting. Due to one evil politician I am not sure if I will read the next one in the series.

The Iditarod
This book is for anyone who pushes themselves to achieve their goals. Probably not thru 1000 miles of snow and ice but through life anyway. I loved the characters and the real life emotions. Please read for a great read. Melissa Storm is a master with the pen or computer. Now on to Alaskan Hearts Book 3!!!

This is the most exciting, riveting book of this type I have ever read. I couldn’t fathom the skill, determination and love of the sport this training would require. Even moreover the stamina and stubbornness it would take to complete the race even though they knew they wouldn’t win and it would be their last race.

I loved. Reading this book – excellent

I really enjoyed the parts of the story when they were working with the dogs. The main character had such good friends, they stood by her through everything. I wish there could have been more romance between Henry and Scarlett but they were just too busy. I look forward to the next book in the series.
