    Delightful
My review today is on the Sweet Romance, The Cowboy’s Best Friend. This is book one in the series Sweet Water Cowboy Romance. I’m having a hard time finding books by Jessie that I haven’t heard on YouTube so was thrilled to find this one. It’s well-written, humorous, and will make you cry. (I ended up crying in a restaurant. How embarrassing!) I know you are going to love it.Palmer Olson received a letter telling him he would inherit a billion dollars. There was only the stipulation that he marry in the next six months and that he and his wife would live in North Dakota for the rest of their lives. Palmer really needed that money as his grandfather had a stroke and needs extra care. The medical bills are piling up and without that money, he will lose the farm. He, his sister, his niece, and his grandparents would lose their home. The only problem is he is in love with his best friend and she can’t seem to stick around. Can he marry another for money?Ames Hanson is a restless soul. She has been all over the world. She even won medals as an Olympian. She learns of her best friend’s inheritance and decides to find him a wife. She could do it but she could never give up her freedom. None of the women were right for him. She couldn’t picture him with any other woman. Now what?A journey to find their way. Is friendship all that is between them? Can they give up that friendship? God has a plan for these two; a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a plan for peace and not for destruction even in this time of chaos. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life.

    Sweet and cozy
The plot is a well loved trope (friends to lovers) with a set that is familiar. The author is a solid B+/A- and the read is cozy and the characters feel fleshed out, especially for the length, though there were a few ,imo places that could hav3 either been tightened up or expanded on, but I’m assuming there was a maximum page requirement the author had to come in under. The additional characters that will set up future books seem interesting enough that I’m going to purchase book 2.This is a sweet (PG) western/billionaire/required wedding/friends to lovers romance and is a sweet quick read.

    The Cowboy’s Best Friend
This was a light-hearted fun read. I so enjoyed the angst that these two BFFs went through to find their HEA. I don’t normally read billionaire stories. I prefer a more down-to-earth type of character and this really did the trick. It was more about those down-to-earth characters than money.Palmer and Ames knew each other since Palmer and his siblings came with live with his grandparents. She left to go on to become an Olympian gold medal winner and Palmer, well he runs the ranch now and takes care of his elderly grandparents along with his sister and her daughter.Ames comes occasionally and has come home to spend the summer helping her parents at their store and during her off-time, out on the ranch with Palmer. He delivers news that he could inherit one billion dollars (yep billions with a B) if he marries a woman and they stay in North Dakota. Palmer knows Ames won’t stay and he can’t leave. The ranch is in his blood. These two have much to work through. There were some really great scenes and lines that were so touching. I really hated to see this end. I adored the dual POV format and the way the author really immersed me the reader into the life on the ranch. I really felt like I was right there. This is a sweet, clean romance that anyone can read. There were some kissing scenes but that was all. It was a great way to escape the realities of the day.

    Enjoyable read
Loved the friendship between Palmer and Ames; the closeness despite the fact that they didn’t live near each other anymore. I have those friends who I don’t see regularly, -might not see for ten years, but when we get together, nothing has changed. That’s these two. This read was comfortable and familiar in that aspect, but both worried and excited at the prospect of change. I liked the humor interspersed throughout, too. Loved the characters, their love for their homes and families, their faith, and their love of heritage and tradition without being either saccharin or old-fashioned.

Can you marry your best friend?
This story was a lot of fun to read. It says so much about human nature that we think that our partner in marriage cannot also be our best friend. Like getting married will ruin that friendship. Why is it that we think that way? I really liked how the author explored that.Ames is really that strong, intelligent woman who loves adventure and wants it all. She has traveled a lot and has achieved almost challenge she attempts. She always found North Dakota to be too quiet and non-challenging for her. But she keeps coming back because it is home.Palmer is a true rancher who just wants to stay put and enjoy the land that his ancestors lived on. He had a rough early childhood until he went to live with his grandparents on their farm. Their influence on him made him a confident and sincere man who knows what he wants in life.It was fun to watch how they deal with their future.

I loved reading this book about friendship, love and second chances. I was laughing at times and then feeling happy

-Palmer and Ames’ story could be like any rural town love story – except for the money attached to the ranch – Some people want to get out of town; some others are born to live and die at the same place.-Palmer has strong ties to his family, friends and ranch. Will he give up everything for love?-I wasn’t too sure about Ames at first, but she won me over at the end. The scenes with her three friends made me thing a lot because of what each of them presupposed. Aren’t we all like that in some way?-Funny: “He dumped a cup of sugar in the tea and stirred it” Want a bit of tea with your sugar? Then I realized, much later I must say, that Palmer was making a batch of sweet tea, not just a cup. LOL-Weird laws: In North Dakota, where this book is set it’s: “It’s illegal to nap with your shoes on in ND”. Here in Canada: “It is illegal to remove a band aid in public in Canada”.

Even though I knew how (I hoped) everything would work out in the end, I still couldn’t wait to read how exactly it happened. Once I got over the kind of strange character names, the story was heart warming and definitely with reading.
