Story about being happy with yourself
I read book. Good book to read aloud to kindergarten age. Good for young readers probably 3 grade and up. Comes in a series of books. The princess learns that even though she is young and small, she is still important and can save the day

    Finally, perfect for a kindergartener
I have just started reading a few chapter books with my daughter, a kindergartener now obsessed with “big kid” chapter books. We read 1-2 chapters together a night. Although we’ve only gotten through about a dozen chapter books meant for her age, I – as a huge bibliophile all my reading age life – have had many critical responses to books meant for 5-6 year olds. The story is either too simple or too complicated, or the characters are simply unlikeable (such as, very self-entitled kids with NO lesson learned at the end!? What is UP with THAT message?). This book, however, was the first appropriate story and had a good lesson in it.I’m so glad my daughter chose “The Princess and the Unicorn.” The story is engaging without being too convoluted OR too simple for her age. The girl characters are super relatable and, for lack of a better word, normal… as in, they don’t have super powers or some extra special characteristics. They’re just girls, in a fantastical world, doing regular girl things and learning important lessons. I realize this may be my own bias, but for me personally I know there’s a place for the whole “chosen one” fantasy adventure trope, but for a 5-6 year old I’d like to teach my daughter that “regular” girls are powerful in their own right. This book was it! I’m happy to purchase more books in this series.

    Great little girl book
My six year old twins loved this book. Each night their mom or dad read them a chapter. They enjoyed the book so much they asked me to get some more of them. They loved wonderful illustrations . I plan on getting more (have already ordered another one) and will be looking for others like this.

Engaging and very well written chapter book for early readers
We loved this book! The 7 year old reader especially enjoyed the way that Princess Olivia learned to find joy by thinking about others instead of herself, and being happy with who she is. The adult reader enjoyed the flow of the chapters and the richly described setting. We were both engaged by the cliffhangers at the end of several chapters. It’s a great book for read-to, yet it can be read alone by a very patient young reader. We will definitely read the rest of the books in the series! Thanks to the author and illustrator for a fun and meaningful story.

    I loved this book
My name is Riley and I am 7 years old. I liked when Princess Juniper tried to get taller. I am little, too, so I know how she feels. I also liked the part when she got the marshmallow plant. I was a little sad when Sparkles got sick.(Transcribed by my mom)

Bought this for our niece who requested chapter books for her bday. She loves it and we will be buying more in the series!

This is one of a series of books and my 6 year old loves them. We recently got 2 more. They can also be read in any order.

The story is really sweet and it’s resonated well with my daughter. It’s a lovely story about being happy with who you are and that patience is important. It’s let down by the format of the book as the paper feels like ordinary printer paper.

Very slim, flimsy book. Very basic. Bought as gift & disappointed.
