  1. Philip W. Nipper

    Great read
This is an absolutely incredible book. Well researched and written it brought back many memories and feelings of the game I had long forgotten. If you are a fan of baseball, you should read this book.

  2. Deadhead

    Great book on baseball!
Author shares stories which I had not heard. Loved the approach to his writing.

  3. Harland Sather

    Fantastic short stories !
Excellent short stories that would delight any baseball fans. Often the “back story” to the main story was as interesting as the main topic.

Good read but poorly printed pages left something to be desired.
Lots of good stories but at least 10 pages were poorly printed (very light print) and hard to read. Specifically they were pages 113, 144, 152, 160, 168, 320, 328, 336, 344,352, and 360.

  5. Sisto Hernandez

    Easy read
You can pick this book up anytime and read just a few pages. Very insightful back stories. Really enjoyed it.

    Great read!
Of the probably 50 baseball books I have read over my life, this was the most amazing read. Posnanski is the Shelby Foote of sportswriters, the conversational prose heightens the enjoyment of the stories. His command of facts, through exhaustive research and personal experience, provides a sense of being there. The real win for me was conjuring up memories of the multitude of games watched in person, over the radio and television with my grandfather, dad, son and grandsons. Many moments lost in statistics, but not on me.Sorry for being so effusive. Again, thank you.
