    Motivational book for kids
Without reading the whole book before writing this review, I’ll say that the reading level (rather than 5-11, as stated) is more like 8-9 years. The stories (apparently) are written to teach children positive self-acceptance even in the face of failure, and for them to keep going even when it’s difficult and/or uncomfortable. They tell of children attempting new tasks and projects, making mistakes, feeling angst and fear; and, the children are fully supported and encouraged by caring adults. It’s a little like readiing Tony Robbins or listening to Oprah, but for kids. Something in the flavor of the writing feels just a bit “preachy”; but, that could be a personal reaction. A fairly quick scan of the book didn’t reveal any political or religious agendas. I recommend this book to parents who are positively focused on giving their children optimal support without “letting them off the hook” as they face life’s challenges.

At first, my son seemed bored as the stories follow a kind of repetitive nature, so i decided not to read them all in one sitting. Now he asks for it repeatedly. Note: He can easily read it himself, but enjoys it being read to him. I like that the book not only gives him more confidence in himself, but also promotes respect for one another.
